Online Marketing for Churches and Ministries

Let’s face it, churches are pretty shy about marketing themselves. That’s no real surprise considering the costs involved, the general backlash from the world for doing so, and the timidness of churches in this modern age.

In days past, people would regularly go door to door, spreading the Gospel and inviting people to Church. Well, with so many scary things going on in the world, and so many slammed doors, people just got tired of the rejection.

So maybe we should redefine what marketing means for a Church. As a Christian, Jesus has made a simple command. Go to your neighbors (the people around us) and help them become students of Christ. This includes reaching out to our youth online, the people asleep in the pews and even your annoying next door neighbor with the dog that barks at 1:00am.

Whether you need to record your sermons for people to watch online, or simple get out from behind the pulpit and into your community, all of it is done to glorify God. We are communicating God’s love to the people around us using every tool we have.
